In totally unrelated news, a story has leaked that Sally Field got into a verbal slugfest with Screen Actors Guild president Alan Rosenberg. (You might remember him from L.A. Law and/or Cybill.) Reportedly, Sally was incensed about the delay in resolving the writer's walkout and launched a scathing attack on Rosenberg for his lack of leadership in getting the parties to the bargaining table. According to press reports...
A representative for the actress concedes the discussion did take place, but insists it did not get out of hand, telling the New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "(Field) did not throw a tantrum. She was sitting next to Alan (Rosenberg) at the table and wanted to talk to him, she didn't corner him. She thought talks should have begun sooner and was trying to relay information from other actors that contract negotiations should begin sooner rather than later, and he became incensed. She had to raise her voice to be heard over his. She has every right to express her opinion to him.Ooh, you don't wanna cross Momma Nora. What do you want to bet she runs against Rosenberg for SAG President in 2009 when his current term is up?
