From creator Tim McAuliffe (THE OFFICE, UP ALL NIGHT, LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON), SATISFACTION stars award-winning comic Ryan Belleville (GOING THE DISTANCE, THE L.A COMPLEX), Luke Macfarlane (BROTHERS & SISTERS, KINSEY, OVER THERE), and Leah Renee (THE PLAYBOY CLUB, BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE, M.V.P). “With the winning combination of creator Tim McAuliffe’s comedic vision, the production strength of DHX Media Ltd., and a talented and funny all-Canadian cast, SATISFACTION is firing on all cylinders as it starts production,” said Corrie Coe, Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media.

Set to premiere this summer on CTV, SATISFACTION takes a humorous look at a group of friends who are in a transitional phase in their lives and completely uninhibited, as they share their relationship woes and romantic wins, life crises, and personal ambitions. The comedy centres on three twenty-something friends who live together: Mark Movenpick (Ryan Belleville), the single guy, along with Jason Howell (Luke Macfarlane) and Maggie Bronson (Leah Renee), the couple. They are all pursuing their dreams to varying levels - in a world where $5 bank balances go head-to-head with lively social schedules. Based on real-life experiences, SATISFACTION contrasts the benefits and drawbacks of being both attached and unattached, where casual sex meets long dry spells, and where committed love meets long-term predictability.

Directors on the series this season include Shawn Alex Thompson (BILLABLE HOURS), Jason Priestley (CALL ME FITZ), Mike Clattenburg (TRAILER PARK BOYS), James Dunnison (LESS THAN KIND), Steve Wright (LITTLE MOSQUE ON THE PRAIRIE), and Keith Samples (MR. D).

SATISFACTION is produced by DHX Media Ltd. Executive Producers are Michael Donovan (THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES, Bowling For Columbine) and Tim McAuliffe (THE OFFICE, UP ALL NIGHT, LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON). Producers are Steven DeNure (THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES), Tracey Jardine (THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES) and Jim Corston (LIFE WITH BOYS). The series is written by Tim McAuliffe, Mark Critch (JUST FOR LAUGHS), Jason Belleville (LITTLE MOSQUE ON THE PRAIRIE), Tim Polley (DAN FOR MAYOR), Jenn Engels (LESS THAN KIND), and Ryan Belleville (ALMOST HEROES). Sarah Fowlie is Director, Independent Production, Comedy, Bell Media. Corrie Coe is Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Mike Cosentino is Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks. Phil King is President, CTV Programming and Sports.

Watch! Luke Macfarlane's "Erection" Is Coming Soon
Posted by snicks on March 29, 2013

Below you can see the NSFW-ish trailer and a couple of hot pics from the short film Erection, which was completed last year and is slowly making the festival circuit. Starring out perfect man Luke Macfarlane, here's the plot summary from IMDB:
Can Dean get an erection in time to save his relationship with his girlfriend? In bed, the day before he leaves town, the couple struggle with his flaccid penis.
This may be the greatest film of all time.

Scene Of The Week - March 10, 2013 - *POLL*
Posted by Justyna Kubica at Sunday, March 10, 2013

Week 14! Thanks everyone for their contribution!
Not a lot going on this time, so my choice this week is:

Show: PERSON OF INTEREST
Episode: “Proteus”
Date: March 7, 2013
Actors: Michael Emerson, Luke Macfarlane, Taraji P. Henson, Sterling K. Brown
The Scene: Finch confrontation with Fake Agent Fahey

I don’t what is it about the show that makes even its filler episode a really great one. Kudos to the brilliant creators for making the series so extraordinary! As for my favorite part of this episode, it’s definitely the showdown between Finch and the fake Agent Fahey, the serial killer.

The dialogue is very well written, with Finch pointing out the differences between the two of them constantly changing their identities. Saving lives vs. destroying them. Not to mention the bit about “Agent Fahey” being amateur at this all. And the mystery behind the glasses. Wow, Finch! I really like this slow character development, learning about our heroes personalities and history with time and like here, seeing the whole new side of them. The acting, as always, is one of the best parts about the scene. Opposite the always amazing Michael Emerson we got Luke MacFarlane with his very good and quite scary performance as a sociopathic killer.

Also, it’s a nice change to see Det. Carter coming Finch to the rescue instead of Reese (though I was hoping he’d show up a bit later) and surprisingly mysterious Det. Beecher. I am interested to see how he fits into the story… Anyway, can’t wait to see what the creators got for us next week.

NOTE: The scene was also picked by Darth Locke and Jimmy Ryan as Scene Of The Week!

“Luke MacFarlane did an excellent job playing this strange intellectual sociopath and this episode was exceptionally creative and an outside the box psychological thriller!” Darth Locke

“I really enjoyed the scene with Finch facing off against Declan (Fahey) at gunpoint, with Finch standing proudly on the fact that he saves lives while Declan (Fahey) takes them. Finch also says Declan (Fahey) "is an amateur at this" when talking about assuming people's identities” Jimmy Ryan

Honorable mentions:
Go On, “Double Down”, March 5, 2013 - Ryan and Anne send their rings away
Community, "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations”, March 7, 2013 - Jeff's speech to his father

And here’s more of SpoilerTV Team members’ favorite scenes:

FROM SHARON SEYMOUR

The Americans, “Trust Me”, March 6, 2013, Actors: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys
The Scene:
Elizabeth and Philip are "interrogated"

Banshee, “Always the Cowboy”, March 8, 2013, Actor: Ivana Miličević
The Scene:
Epic fight scene between Anastasia and the Russian Mob guy
NOTE: I spent all week catching up with this series. It's awesome!

FROM KLUTZY GIRL

Community, "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations”, March 7, 2013, Actor: Joel McHale
The Scene:
Jeff's speech to his father about how he's broken and it's all his fault.

Go On, “Double Down”, March 5, 2013, Actors: Matthew Perry, Julie White
The Scene:
Ryan and Anne send their rings away on balloons.

White Collar, “In the Wind”, March 5, 2013, Actors: Matt Bomer, Hilarie Burton
The Scene:
Neal "proposes" to Sara.

FROM BRADLEY ADAMS

NCIS, “Prime Suspect”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Michael Weatherly
The Scene:
The scene where Tony reads the expenses report on his desk where Vance and Dorneget were trying to play a joke on him was great.

NCIS: LA, “Wanted”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Eric Christian Olsen
The Scene:
Deeks going to the spa. His reaction to everything in there was absolutely hilarious.

FROM DARTH LOCKE

Once Upon A Time, “The Queen is Dead”, March 3, 2013, Actors: Bailee Madison, Lesley Nicol, Rena Sofer
The Scene:
The Queen (Snow White's Mother) teaches her daughter the value in treating all people fairly, as Snow White scolds Johanna for wearing Snow's upcoming Tiara.

Enlightened, “Agent Of Change”, March 3, 2013, Actors: Laura Dern, Luke Wilson
The Scene:
Levi tells Amy, 'Having Hope for the World is a Beautiful thing.'

FROM JAMIE COUDEVILLE

The Lying Game, “The Grave Truth”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Andy Buckley
The Scene:
Ted finds out about the twins
I just loved this scene, I had been looking forward to this moment for a while, and their hug was so adorable. Definitly one of my favorite scenes of this show

FROM ROBIN SMYTH

Justified, “The Hatchet Tour”, March 5, 2013, Actors: Timothy Olyphant, Brent Sexton
The Scene:
Raylan lying to Hunter about what his father's last words to him were because he corrected it to what they should have been opposed to "kiss my a--."

FROM JIMMY RYAN

The Following, “Let Me Go”, March 4, 2013, Actor: James Purefoy
The Scene:
The scene where Carroll finally arrives at the house to meet his followers in the last 5 minutes of last Monday's episode was one of the most eerie, uneasy scenes I've ever seen. The darkness of the night coupled with the darkness of the man and his followers, the innocence of Joey in the presence of evil, and "If I Had A Heart" by Fever Ray as a backing track, came together in a pretty amazing way considering the subject of the scene itself.

NOTE: The scene was also picked by Sharon Seymour as Scene Of The Week!

"Person of Interest" changed things up again with the episode "Proteus." It's probably the most unusual episode to date and is completely different from anything fans have seen from the series. The episode is not only packed with the usual intrigue, but also with a high level of suspense. A couple of moments are downright scary. Even if you know who the killer is from the moment he shows his face, as it is fairly obvious, there are so many other surprises to keep viewers glued to the TV.

Glitches in the Machine

The episode starts out somewhat ominously, as the Machine has been completely quiet for three days, and the weather is harsh. Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Finch (Michael Emerson) take in a movie with Bear while they wait for a number, when lo and behold, the Machine calls them up as they stroll down the street after the film.

The Machine has given them six different numbers for people all across the country. All of them are dead. They initially believe it's another glitch, but something strange is going on. The latest POI, Jack Rollins, has a New York connection, so they check him out first. Finch heads for Rollins's home, while Reese takes a trip to Owen Island to check out Rollins's rental property.

Glitches in the brain

Finch and Carter (Taraji P. Henson) work together to find that the Machine has put the gang on the trail of a serial killer who steals the identities of the people he kills. The killer's latest victim was at his vacation home on the island. The storm prevents Finch from getting word out to Reese, so he flies to Owen Island on his own plane in order to help out.

Meanwhile, Reese has been posing as a U.S. Marshal in order to team up with FBI Agent Fahey (Luke MacFarlane) who is also on the case. Because the killer can disguise himself so easily, he could be almost anyone on the island. His only problem is that he is stuck there. Finch rigs up a lie detector to see if he can figure out who is lying, while Reese and Agent Fahey question everyone.

The confrontation

The best part of the episode is when Finch's lie detector reveals the Agent Fahey may be the serial killer. The chapter suddenly becomes a combination of horror and murder mystery, as the killer cuts the power and kills the deputy sheriff (Becky Ann Baker). As Finch searches for proof that Agent Fahey is actually the killer, Fahey steps up behind Finch and puts a gun to his head. He even steals poor Finch's glasses and begins imitating him. How rude! Finch refuses to fly the psycho killer off the island, so he decides to kill Finch and find another way off.

Every moment between Finch and Fake Fahey is delicious. The scene is so creepy, you can feel your skin crawling as Fake Fahey speaks. We also see a whole new side of Finch, as Fake Fahey claims that he is living the lives of the people he kills better than they ever could, and Finch bravely calls him on it.

Carter and Beecher to the rescue

Carter finds out who the killer is on her own but is unable to get the word out to Finch and Reese. The weather is dangerous, so Beecher (Sterling K. Brown) decides to drive Carter to the island. On the way, Carter confronts Beecher about his problems with IAB. She goes so far as to reach for her gun when Beecher accelerates in annoyance, but he takes offense. He's seems surprised that Carter actually believes he could hurt her.

When Fake Fahey is on the verge of killing Finch, Carter takes him down from the front. Fake Fahey rises again (a la horror movie) because he was wearing body armor, and Beecher makes the kill shot from the other side of the room.

Kara Stanton's virus lives

At the end, Finch wonders whether the virus planted in the U.S. infrastructure by Kara Stanton is what caused the Machine to go dormant for three days. Without that glitch, Finch and Reese could have saved the last two victims, Agent Fahey and the Deputy Sheriff, on the island. Perhaps the Machine will get a mind of its own.

Happy Birthday to Luke Macfarlane!

By Greg Hernandez on Jan 19, 2013 1:33 pm

This most handsome, most talented actor turns 33 today.

While we miss seeing Luke Macfarlane each week as Scotty on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, he’s not the type of actor who has to wait for the next TV series to come along. He has kept busy on stage including playing F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Jazz Age. Most recently, he appeared in The Normal Heart and Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir.

Luke, who studied drama at Julliard, was previously best-known for his role as Pvt. Frank “Dim” Dumphy in the series Over There. The Canadian actor had never given any interviews about his personal life until discussing his sexuality for the first time in an interview with the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail in 2008.

I spoke with him a few weeks after that at an event and he said: “I decided to do that interview, I decided to answer those questions in an effort to make my life simpler and that’s going to contunue to be my motto. So, I’ll have to say, it hasn’t been that hot a light on me at all.”

Happy birthday to Luke!

CTV Orders New Half-Hour Original Comedy SATISFACTION

Posted January 11, 2013

ctv

Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports, announced today from the Television Critics Association tour in Pasadena, CA that CTV has ordered to series the new half-hour Canadian scripted comedy series SATISFACTION, starring Luke MacFarlane (BROTHERS AND SISTERS), Stephanie Lemelin (BONES), Ryan Belleville (THE L.A. COMPLEX), Vik Sahay (CHUCK), and Leah Renee (THE PLAYBOY CLUB). From Halifax’s DHX Media, the ensemble comedy series is written by Tim McAuliffe (UP ALL NIGHT, THE OFFICE) and produced by Michael Donovan (Bowling for Columbine, THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES). CTV has ordered 12 half-hour episodes in addition to the pilot shot last fall in Toronto. The series is set to begin production in late spring. The pick-up announcement for SATISFACTION comes as CTV also orders today the ensemble undercover detective drama PLAYED (working title). The two programs join CTV’s burgeoning lineup of original scripted series including MOTIVE, SAVING HOPE, and THE LISTENER.

SATISFACTION takes a humorous look at a group of friends who are completely uninhibited as they share their relationship woes and romantic wins, life crises, and personal ambitions. Dedicated single man Mark (Belleville) hustles the dating scene while his best friends and long-term couple Jason (MacFarlane) and Maggie (Lemelin) work at keeping the sparks flying as they face the day-to-day challenges of being in a committed relationship. Neighbours Nancy (Renee) and Dan (Sahay) have a marriage that proves that, while opposites can definitely attract, it can also deliver some seriously epic volatility.

“From the wild singles scene, to the rewards and worries of a monogamous commitment, SATISFACTION offers a candid and hilarious take on modern romantic relationships from a ‘bromance’ perspective,” said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. “SATISFACTION complements our lineup of Canada’s most-watched comedies. We look forward to working with the talented actors and creative team behind this hilarious new series.”

SATISFACTION is produced by DHX Media is association with CTV.
